I leave tomorrow for a week in Mont-Tremblant. We have been there twice in the past as a family, in 2004 & 2005, but this year there's a twist. Kelsey has invited 9 other high school seniors to make the trip. Hearing the plan, Mary Beth was out, which means Lizzie was out (remember, they're inseparable), leaving just Kelsey, Jack and myself. Since I'm not equipped to handle 11 kids alone, we recruited another father, Phil Weisner, to make the trip, bringing our little travel group to 13.We've rented a 5 bedroom condo 2 miles from the base that is on the shuttle line. The place says it sleeps 12, but we've brought a few air mattresses to handle the overflow. The original plan was to leave this AM in our suburban and in Phil's Explorer, 7 in one and 6 in the other. However, Kelsey forgot that the last varsity track meet of the year is tonight -- yup, Sunday night. Coach made it clear: Don't attend -- don't get your varsity letter. Three of the girls on the trip run track, so I'll be leaving tomorrow with Jack and the "trackies." The rest of the kids left this morning in the suburban -- all 8 seats full. We will join them tomorrow.
These are all good kids, it is a fantastic location, the weather is predicted to be fine and I just love to snowboard. Those are the ingredients for a great week. I'll post the details soon.
